We’re always looking out for the best foods to feed our dogs, as we know that just like humans, the healthier they eat, the longer they will live!
I stumbled across this website today-- The Dog Food Project -- lots of info about choosing a good dog food!
You’ll be surprised at all the things in dog food that are either nutritionally useless to dogs, or can possibly be harmful over a long period of time.
On that page, be sure to check out Label Information 101 and Ingredients to Avoid and be sure to check your own dog foods to see how they compare!
Were still learning ourselves as to what foods are best, so we periodically (about every 3 months) gradually switch dog foods over to another high-quality brand. We as humans don’t eat the same food our entire lives, so why should our dogs? J
I just found out (from another message board) about “menadione” as an ingredient in dog foods to be concerned about and possibly avoid. It is also listed on this website and gives much more information than I could ever explain J.
Hope you find this information useful!
